Here is a birthday card I made for my sister in law. (This is another post from my old blog) I wanted to try out some copic colours that I haven’t yet used and really liked the sketch at Deconstructing Jen. One of the reasons I started my blog was to enter challenges for fun and it has taken me awhile but I am now giving it a go. I also used R46 and R59 as I wanted to do a more traditional style copic marker card for the Copic Oz challenge. Unfortunately I have used my R46 so much it has almost run out of ink so I could only use a little bit on my card. I have to wait now for that re-inker. Purple and red is not a colour combination that I use very often but I am enjoying trying out different things.

Supplies: Paper trimmer, scissors, tuxedo black ink, x-press it blending card, chalk pastels (to give the background a very light shade of blue), paper flowers, Kaisercraft resin flower bazzill dotted swiss cardstock, red cardstock, kraft cardstock, lace, spellbinders nestabilities – ribbon tag trio three, Sizzix Big Shot, Stamps – Penny Black Magical Mimi and Betsy Bluebell set,patterned paper – MME 12 days of Christmas 6×6 paper pad, Fiskars – postage edge punch, Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch, Studio Calico Mister Hueys Calico shine, Tim Holtz Ruler, paper piercer, copic black multiliner 0.3, atyou spica pens – clear, lilac and red, copic markers – E000, E00, E01, E43, E47, E49, R20, V000, V01, V09, V06, V04, V05, V12, V15, V17, R46, R59, Y15, Y17, C0, BG23, colourless blender
Method: I stamped the Mimi stamp onto blending card in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with the copic markers. I added clear and red spica pen to the image (which you can’t really see in the photo). I added some chalk pastel to the background and made faux stitching with the paper piercer, ruler and multiliner. I punched out some butterflies and sprayed with calico shine to give some shimmer. I put these aside to dry. I trimmed the patterned papers and red card to size. I punched some purple card using the postage edge punch. I cut the label out of blending card with using my nestabilities die and the big shot. I added a black border inside the card then coloured the label. I added purple spica around the outer edge and stamped the message onto the tag. This is a create way to colour your tags to exactly match your project. I threaded the lace through the tag. The card was then assembled as shown in the photo. I added some clear spica around the edges of the paper flowers.
